facebook + Second Life

Well, after coming back from my summer holiday, I spent 6 weeks of endless nights blasting through lsl, php and facebook code... to proudly bring you: Second Life Link! That's right! You can now link your Facebook profile to your Second life account. By why would you want to do that??? Here's what our application can do:

What does Second Life Link do?
This application integrates the worlds most popular social networking applications, Facebook, with the worlds most popular Virtual World – Second Life! With our Facebook application you can:

Show your SL Avatar to your RL Friends
If your friend uses the Second Life, and they use our application, you will be able to see their Second Life name and Avatar – so you can meet virtually!

View your friends Online Status in Facebook
Our application will show your friend’s Second Life online/offline. This will help you to synchronize virtual meeting times!


Share your Virtual Home / Favorite Locations with your Friends
We give you the option to specify your favorite or Home SL Destination with your friends. That way, they can easily teleport to you when you are online, or visit your virtual home when you are offline.

Excellent Privacy Settings
Privacy is our number one concern. Therefore, we have several privacy settings so you can choose whether or not your friends can see you online or offline in SL.


Second Life Link is currently in our beta stage -meaning, it may have bugs in it. I hope you can help us find them, and make the application better!

There are two ways you can install Second Life Link. You can either install it by

1)First touching the terminal, and THEN going to Facebook to verify, OR
2) First adding our application in Facebook, and THEN clicking on the terminal

If you choose the first way, you will have to enter a verification code in Facebook which we will provide to you after clicking our terminal.

If you do it the second way, you don't have to enter any verification code, you just need to install our facebook app, by going to: http://apps.facebook.com/second-life/?canvas
and then click the terminal for auto verification.

Instructions I (For users who you haven't installed the facebook application yet)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1) Click on the Second Life Link terminal �� (See this image: ��)
2) Look at your chat window by pressing control-h

In the chat window, you will be given a special 6 digit code.��
Copy this code down

3) A blue menu will pop up in the top right of your screen, with a button that says: "Go to page" ��
4) This will take you to facebook where you must install the Second Life Link Application
Click "Add Application" ��
5) Next Click "Add Second Life Link" ��
6) Next, there are two columns. One is for people who don't have a second life account. And another column for those that do. Obviously, since you are an avatar in second life you have an account! Therefore type in your Second Life first and last name into the fields. Then press "Sync Account". (See this picture for details:�� )
7) Finaly, type in your secret code and press "confirm" �� You are done! Congrats! You can now start social networking
with your SL Friends on Facebook! ��

Instructions II (For users who install the facebook application first)

1) Go to: http://apps.facebook.com/second-life/?canvas
This will take you to facebook where you must install the Second Life Link Application
2) Click "Add Application" ��
3) Next Click "Add Second Life Link" ��
4) Next, there are two columns. One is for people who don't have a second life account. And another column for those that do. Obviously, since you are an avatar in second life you have an account! Therefore type in your Second Life first and last name into the fields. Then press "Sync Account". (See this picture for details:�� )
5) finally, you will see a page with a teleport link to our terminal. This will teleport you into Second Life.
All you must do now is click the terminal! And it will auto verify you.
You are done! Congrats! You can now start social networking
with your SL Friends on Facebook! ��
